Dr. James M. North is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He received his B.S. degree from Texas Tech University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. In 2000, Dr. North graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He achieved the distinction of AOA, the highest academic honor in medical school.
Dr. North did his initial training at the University of Hawaii, then completed his residency in anesthesiology in 2004 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. In 2005 he completed his fellowship in pain management at Wake Forest University. He was offered a position as a pain management physician by Dr. Richard Rauck, the director of pain fellowship program at Wake Forest, and joined Carolinas Pain Institute, PA in August 2005. Dr. North is also a part of the Center for Clinical Research, LLC and a primary investigator on a number of pain research studies. Dr. North is a Clinical Associate Professor at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He actively participates in the training of anesthesia residents and fellows.
Dr. North's interests include neuromodulation, especially advanced spinal cord stimulation. A sincere bedside manner and youthful energy are among his best attributes.
